Eric was born in Monroe, LA, in 1991. After relocating to Benton, LA, he spent his formative years attending Benton High School. Eric graduated from Benton High in 2010 after being named class Valedictorian and Student of the Year. He later attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA, on a baseball scholarship. Eric graduated summa cum laude in the Honors Program at Louisiana Tech in 2014, earning his B.A. in English Literature. After college, Eric attended law school at LSU Law Center in Baton Rouge, LA, earning his Juris Doctor (J.D.) in 2018. After being admitted to practice in Louisiana in 2018, Eric enrolled in the LL.M. program at Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law. While at Loyola, he was a member of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal where he researched and drafted various articles, including one published in 2019. Eric would graduate summa cum laude from Loyola College of Law with his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in 2019. After a distinguished judicial clerkship in the 26th JDC (Bossier and Webster Parishes) from 2019 – 2020, Eric joined the John D. & Eric G. Johnson Law firm in 2020. He remains diligent in his practice of criminal defense at the State district and appellate levels as well as the Federal district and appellate levels.
